Paul P. Thibodeau
1930-2009
ENFIELD, CONN. — Paul P. Thibodeau, of Enfield, Conn., entered into eternal life on Monday, Aug. 24, surrounded by loved ones in the comfort of his home at the age of 78. Paul was the beloved husband of 57 years to Judy (MacVane) Thibodeau.
He was born in Lewiston, the son of the late Philippe and Rose Thibodeau. He had resided in Connecticut for the past 52 years — and in Maine before that. He served his country honorably with the U.S. Marine Corps during the Korean War and was a recipient of the Purple Heart.
Paul received his teaching degree from Gorham State Teachers College, Gorham. Prior to his retirement in 1992, Paul taught at Windsor Locks High School in Windsor, Conn., for 35 years.
Besides his wife, Judy, Paul is survived by his loving children; two sons, Roger Thibodeau and his wife, Dee, of Somers, and Mike Thibodeau and his wife, Heather, of Enfield; three daughters, Pamela Machado and her husband, Jim, of Ludlow, Mass., Karen Hanrahan and her husband, Mike, of Connecticut, and Ann Beckham and her husband, Steven, of Flovilla, Ga.; and a special son-in-law, Jim Chamberland, of Enfield.
He is also survived by his beloved grandchildren; children of Roger and Dee — Amy Lingley and her husband, Stephen, of Stafford Springs, Brandon Thibodeau of Stafford Springs, Staff Sgt. Brian Thibodeau of Florida, Kyle Thibodeau of Somers, Senior Airman Jake Thibodeau of Arizona; children of Karen and Mike — Sgt. 1st Class Nate Hanrahan and his wife, Becky, of Indiana, Staff Sgt. Mike and Senior Airman Tesla of Washington; and son of Ann and Steven — Derric Beckham of Georgia.
Surviving him as well are his beloved great-granddaughter, Carmen Lingley, of Stafford Springs; his faithful and loving dog, Sophie; his brother, Wallace Thibodeau and his wife, Lou, of Lewiston; his sister, Norma Paradis, of Lewiston; a special sister-in-law, Jeanette Hamilton and her husband, Ken, of Chebeague Island; and many nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, Paul was predeceased by his in-laws, Paul, Phyllis and Jim MacVane; and nieces, Peggy, Wendy and Linda.
