LEWISTON – Bernard L. Barrett, 88 of Lewiston passed away on Sept. 2 at the Hospice House of Androscoggin Home Care and Hospice.
He was born in Lisbon Falls, Nov. 11, 1920, the son of the late Peter and Pauline Baker Barrett. He served his country in the U.S. Army during World War II and the Korean Conflict.
Prior to his retirement he was employed as a truck driver for Lewiston Supply Co.
Bernard was married to Lucille Castonguay Blais and was a member of Holy Cross Church and the American Legion Post of Lisbon Falls. He enjoyed coin collecting and gardening.
He is survived by his wife, Lucille, of Lewiston; a son Ronnie Barrett of Maplewood, N.J.; three daughters, Karen Barrett of Richmond, Vt., Bonnie Barrett of Williston, Vt., and Debbie Barrett of Plattsburgh, N.Y.; a brother, William Barrett and his wife, Helen, of Lisbon Falls; a daughter-in-law, Elizabeth Barrett of Milton, Vt.; a stepson, Marc Blais and his wife, Diane, of Lewiston; three stepdaughters, Rachel Danner and her husband, Doug, of Embden, Claire Ivery and her husband, Pat, of Bradford, N.H., and Joline Blais and Jon Ippolito of Holden; grandchildren, Steven, Lisa and Sara Barrett, Anna and Kevin Allahar, Jason Danner, Jennifer Ivery, Michelle and Cory King, Adam Blais, Ray Blais, Kai and Ryan Hart; and five great grandchildren.
He was predeceased by a son, Bernard Barrett, Jr.; a sister, Madeleine Tupper; and brothers, Roland (wife Marion) and Donald.
