BRIDGTON — “Figuratively Speaking,” a group show by the Bridgton Drawing Group, will be held Sept. 1 through Oct. 31 at EFG Books.

There will be an opening reception from 5 to 7 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 12.

On display are works from the group’s weekly life-drawing sessions over the past two years. “Figuratively Speaking” is a mix of styles and techniques and will feature pastel, watercolor, ink and pencil sketches. Besides the framed works, there will be matted items collected from the weekly sessions. All the work is for sale.

Artists in the show are Joe Klofas, Gwen Nagel, Madeline Wikler, Anne Bernard, Janet Gill, Carolyn Rhoads, Andrea Dacko, Sandra Long, Donna Kantor and Janet Montgomery.

The Bridgton Drawing Group was pulled together by Klofas, an artist and teacher from Gardiner who summers in Bridgton. Group members, brought together by a common desire to work from the model, have been meeting since June 2008 in Bridgton and Naples.

EFG Books is at 186 Main St. Gallery hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday. For more information, call 647-9339.
