Cecile Soucy
1914 – 2009

FARMINGTON – Cecile Soucy, age 95, a former resident of Jay, died Wednesday, Sept. 2 at Orchard Park Nursing Home, where she had resided for the past two years. She had previously resided with her nephew and his wife, Rene and Geraldine Bibeau of Jay for six years.

Cecile was born on March 3, 1914 in Jay, the daughter of Joseph and Josephine (Ouellette) Soucy and attended St. Rose of Lima School in Jay. She worked as a housekeeper for 26 years at the Westbrook rectory, retiring in 1987. She was a communicant of St. Rose of Lima Church in Jay and a member of the Daughters of Isabella, Circle #677 for 50 years.

She is survived by three nephews, Paul Bibeau and his wife, Nancy of Livermore, Rene Bibeau and his wife, Geraldine of Jay and Roger Plante and his wife, Janice also of Jay; and many great-nieces and great-nephews.

She was predeceased by two brothers, Antonio Soucy and Frank Soucy, sisters, Adrienne Bibeau, Rachel Plante and Sister St. Paul and a nephew, Bert Plante.

The family would like to thank the staff, especially the nurses, CNAs and hospice workers at Orchard Park Nursing Home and also Dr. Leslie Harding for the exceptional care of Cecile during her stay.

SOUCY – Died in Farmington, Sept. 2, 2009, Cecile Soucy, age 95, formerly of Jay. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Rose of Lima Church in Jay. Visiting hours Friday 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at FINLEY FUNERAL HOME, 15 Church St., Livermore Falls, 04254. Interment will be at Holy Cross Cemetery in Livermore Falls. If desired, contributions may be made to the Daughters of Isabella for the purchase of a bench at Holy Cross Cemetery, C/O St. Rose of Lima Church, 1 Church St., Jay, ME 04239.
