More than a week after a Lewiston woman was shot and killed in the Dorchester neighborhood of Boston, her boyfriend remained alive at a Massachusetts hospital.

Boston police said Thursday night Shameek Garcia, 32, remained in critical condition after suffering multiple gunshot wounds, at least one to the head.

Garcia was shot along with his girlfriend, 29-year-old Erica Field, as the pair sat in a car on Aug. 25 in a lot on Norwell Street. Field died of her wounds. Garcia has remained in critical condition since the victims were first discovered sitting side-by-side in their rental car.

There have been no arrests in the case. Boston police said their investigation is ongoing.

Police from Maine and Massachusetts, as well as a team of federal agents, have been investigating the shootings, trying to establish a link between the crime scene and the Lewiston area, where Garcia and Field lived together.

No further information was available Thursday night on his condition. Police did not disclose whether or not he had regained consciousness.
