RUMFORD — Lisa Raheb has joined the team at Island Indulgence in downtown Rumford.

She comes to the area from Wichita, Kan., where she owned and operated her salon for nearly 20 years. She specializes in cutting and coloring hair, with a second place award from L’oreal in coloring. Her training has taken her to the Vidal Sassoon Academy in San Francisco for advanced color and cutting education twice. She also received advanced training from educators in the industry such as Toni & Guy. John Dellaria, Dwight Miller, Sebastian, Aveda and Jingles of London.

She was a senior master stylist with Eric Fisher Salon in Wichita and her job involved training junior stylists there, training of staff in other salons and platform work at cosmetology conventions. She has also done hair and makeup for the Sheplers Western Wear catalog, Coleman catalog and the Greteman Group Agency, which involved hair and makeup for print and film.

Her volunteer work included hair and makeup for stage productions at local high schools in Wichita, hair for stage productions at Wichita State University and makeup application for ArtAid, which is a fundraiser for Positive Directions.
