PORTLAND — Portland Ballet Company will host auditions for its annual production of “The Victorian Nutcracker” on Saturday, Sept. 12, at its studio at 517 Forest Ave. The company invites dancers ages 8 through adult to try out for the Dec. 12, 13 and 16 performances.

Registration for the auditions will be held from noon until 1 p.m., with auditions from 1 to 3 p.m.

“The Victorian Nutcracker” takes the traditional story and places it in historic Portland and its famed Victoria Mansion. This year, performances will be held at Merrill Auditorium on Dec. 16, and at Kennett High School Auditorium in North Conway, N.H., on Dec. 12-13. 

The Portland production will feature the Portland Ballet Orchestra and the Victorian Festival Singers.
