NORTH WATERFORD — The North Waterford Congregational Church will celebrate its 150th anniversary on July 4, 2010.

Maintenance and repairs to the historic building are ongoing, and recently the church steeple was lowered to the ground in front of the church to be repaired and repainted.

Following the repairs to the steeple, the church building itself needs to be repainted.

In preparation for the anniversary, a cookbook has been printed and is being sold, with the proceeds dedicated toward the repairs to the church steeple. Featuring a brief history of the church, the cookbook is filled with recipes contributed by church and community members, and many of the recipes will be familiar to those who attend the church’s public suppers each summer.

The cookbooks are available at the North Waterford and Stoneham Congregational Churches, by contacting church members or by calling Milly Millett at 583-2822.
