The two children who did not fill their burlap sack with a pig were given $10 each as a consolation prize. The kids that did catch a pig, got to take their prize home with them. The next pig scramble on Friday at 6 p.m. is for 8- and 9-year-olds.

Pingree’s family went home with a pig after a 7-year-old girl captured a pig during the pig scramble and could not keep it. Pingree’s 6-year-old brother, Dalton, had hoped to be one of the 12 children picked to enter the scramble, but his name was not drawn.
