WILTON — Police are continuing their investigation of two daytime home burglaries, Police Chief Dennis Brown said Monday.

A resident of an apartment on Main Street returned home Sunday to find the screen door pushed in and the house ransacked. The incident is believed to have taken place between 11:30 a.m. and 7:30 p.m.

Criminal mischief was done inside the home and a threatening note was left on the floor, he said.

Police interviewed neighbors who were unable to provide information.

The home owner is compiling a list of missing items for the investigation.

A second home on Village View was entered last Tuesday also during the day. The owner arrived home to find someone had entered their unlocked residence and ransacked their home.

An iTunes card worth about $100 was missing from the residence.

Police have identified a suspect and are currently running DNA tests from the scene and a sample from the suspect for a match, he said.

The department has also responded to several harassment complaints, he said. Four complaints have been received within three days.
