Students of the Maine School of Masonry in Rangeley were at the Eaton
Memorial Methodist Church and First Baptist Church, both in Livermore
Falls, on Sept. 11, repairing damage to the brick work at each church.
As part of the school’s volunteer community project, students travel
throughout the area doing minor repair work at churches, schools and
other nonprofit community organizations. The repairs at the churches consisted of raking out and repointing mortar joints at
both buildings, pouring a new concrete step at the Eaton Methodist
Church and replacement of bricks around the basement windows at the
First Baptist Church. The entire class of 11 students participated in
this volunteer project. Three students and instructor Stephen Mitchell
are pictured working on the concrete/granite steps of the Eaton
Methodist Church.
