AUBURN — Budding and existing entrepreneurs across Maine are encouraged to attend the 6th Annual Entrepreneur’s Summit from 7:15 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Sept. 30 at the Hilton Garden Inn, 14 Great Falls Plaza.

Admission of $55 includes the workshops, networking expo and a networking lunch.

Hosted by Preti Flaherty, the half-day seminar will provide start-ups and established businesses with the tools, resources and inspiration to either launch a new business or grow an existing one. Topics include building a professional services team, writing a business plan, securing financing to launch a business, alternative financing to grow a business, and stretching marketing dollars in a tough economy.

The keynote address will be delivered by Matt Jacobson, president of Maine & Company, a private, nonprofit corporation whose staff provides free and confidential services to companies locating to or growing in Maine. He will share perspectives on building a successful business in Maine.

Also, entrepreneurs Dara Reimers of The Bread Shack, Josh Davis of Gelato Fiasco, and Pam Hurley Moser of Hurley Travel Experts will share their stories of challenges and successes in running their Maine businesses. Other speakers will include attorneys, CPAs, business insurance brokers, business counselors, business brokers, investors, bankers, marketing/advertising strategists and publishers.

College students may attend for $25 and are encouraged to enter a drawing for a Start-Up Resource Kit — a prize including a bundle of free legal, accounting and financing consultation services. One college student will be chosen and announced at the networking lunch after the summit.

Sponsors include the law firm Preti Flaherty, based in Portland, CPA firm Albin, Randall & Bennett in Auburn, Mainebiz and The Androscoggin County Chamber of Commerce.
