Lewiston 2, Brunswick 1
LEWISTON – Angela Martel worked her way through a swarm of defenders and fired a hard slap shot into the net with 12:26 left in regulation to lift Lewiston to a 2-1 victory over Brunswick in another KVAC field hockey tilt Thursday.

Carley Denis gave the Blue Devils (1-5) a 1-0 advantage in the first half. The Dragons (2-3) answered when Eliza Brooks tallied just 15 minutes into the second frame.

Emily Craig made 24 saves for Lewiston to record the win, while Abby Theberge turned back eight shots between the posts for Brunswick.

Leavitt 4, Rockland 0
TURNER – MyKayla McCann netted a goal in each half to lead Leavitt to a 4-0 romp over Rockland in KVAC field hockey action Thursday.

Emily Murphy and Casey Fletcher also tallied for the Hornets (3-3) to complete the scoring. Briana Luce and Taylor Eells split time in net for Leavitt, while McKayla Follet made 11 saves in net for Rockland (1-4).

Oak Hill 10, Lincoln Academy 1
WALES – Ashley Paradis, Emily Grass and Becca Tucci scored two goals each Thurday as Oak Hill rolled past Lincoln Academy 10-1 in more KVAC field hockey action.

Single tallies by Lauren Hall, Alicia Stevens, Brianna Hodgkins and Sandy Wilson also tallied for the Raiders (2-3) to complete the scoring. Sarah Lacroix and Ashley Ward split time in net, with Ward credited with three saves during her stint.

Girls’ soccer

Buckfield 7, Calvary Chapel 2

BUCKFIELD – Ashlee Hamann stockpiled six goals to lead Buckfield to a 7-2 victory over Calvary Chapel in girls’ soccer action Thursday.

The Bucks (2-1) jumped out to a 5-1 halftime lead. Samantha Jones recorded the third Buckfield goal.

Calvary Chapel (0-3) scored a goal in each half, behind the efforts of Jessica Owens and Jacqueline Veilleux.

Goalie Meghan Warman made 19 saves for Calvary Chapel, while Natasha Elsman repelled seven shots to earn the win in net for Buckfield.

Boys’ soccer

Mt. Abram 5, Telstar 0

SALEM – Senior striker Kenny Moir recorded a hat trick as Mt. Abram cruised to a 5-0 victory over Telstar in MVC boys’ soccer action Friday.

The Roadrunners (4-1) were strong on defense as Jake Carlton assisted in preventing any serious offensive challenge by the Rebels (2-3). Jim Barker assisted on the first three Mt. Abram goals.

Goalie Daniel Vaughn made 20 saves for Telstar, while goalie Josh Beedy turned back nine shots to earn the win in net for Mt. Abram.

Gray-New Gloucester 3, Sacopee Valley 1

SOUTH HIRAM – Eric Schrader posted a pair of goals to lead Gray-New Gloucester to a 3-1 victory over Sacopee Valley in WMC boys’ soccer action Friday.

The Hawks (0-4) took a 1-0 first half lead. But, the Patriots (3-2) responded with three unanswered second half goals. Kolby Arnold recorded a goal and an assist, while Craig Moreau and Jack Martel chipped in with assists in the winning effort.

Goalie Evan Kenney made three saves to earn the win in net for Gray-New Gloucester.
