LEWISTON — Lots to Gardens will have its 11th annual Harvest Celebration, beginning Wednesday, Sept. 23, at the Knox Street Garden, 61 Knox St.
The free, kid-friendly event is an opportunity for all community members
to spend time with each other, eat food made from garden
fresh vegetables and learn more about the work Lots to Gardens does
throughout Lewiston.
At 5 p.m., join Lots to Gardens staff, community gardeners and volunteers to
create a children’s section of the community garden.
Following the
garden work, everyone is invited to the St. Mary’s
Nutrition Center, 208 Bates St., for a harvest potluck dinner at 6:30 p.m. Those participating should bring a favorite dish to share.
Festivities will continue through Thursday, Sept. 24, at Hillview Apartments, 77 Rideout Ave., where there will be face painting, music, sack races and other garden activities. Activities will begin at 4:30 p.m. and a meal cooked by children at Hillview and Lots to Gardens staff and volunteers will be served at 5:30 p.m.
To attend the harvest celebrations or for more information, contact Lots to Gardens at 513-3844 or [email protected].
