AUBURN — This fall, Auburn Public Library’s Preschool Stories program will feature visits from Auburn’s public servants. Children and their families will get to meet and be read to by city employees, giving some of the area’s youngest residents a chance to learn about city government. A few city vehicles will make guest appearances as well.

Assistant City Manager Laurie Smith will begin the series on Wednesday, Sept. 23, sharing some of her family’s favorite children’s stories. On Sept. 30, Police Chief Phil Crowell will show off his police cruiser on the library lawn between story times.

Bob “the Builder” Belz, director of public works, will bring a dump truck and plow on Oct. 7 and Fire Chief Wayne Werts will bring a fire truck and firefighters in full gear on Oct. 21.

The Preschool Stories program is free and is designed for children ages 3 to 5 who are comfortable being in a group without their parent. All story times are held at the library, 49 Spring St., and will begin at 9:30 a.m. For further information, call the library at 333-6640, ext. 3.
