Incident report statistics:
Between 6 p.m. Sept. 17 and 6 a.m. Sept. 27, patrol officers responded to 126 complaints.
Arrests/Summonses:
On Sept. 17 – 8:08 p.m., Matthew McPherson, 18, of Rumford was charged by Ptl. Michael Belanger with theft (shoplifting) and violating conditions of release at a Portland Street business. McPherson is scheduled to appear in Rumford District Court on Nov. 3.
On Sept. 19 – 10:41 a.m., Ashley Amburg, 20, of Rumford was arrested by Ptl. Lawrence Winson on Cumberland Street on a warrant for failure to appear for violating conditions of release. Amburg, unable to post bail, was transported to the Oxford County Jail and court date is unknown.
On Sept. 21 – 1:23 p.m., Corey Edingborough, 27, of Rumford was charged by Sgt. Tracey Higley on Maine Avenue with violating conditions of release. Edingborough is scheduled to appear in Rumford District Court on Nov. 3.
On Sept. 22 – 11:03 a.m., Alexandra Morton, 39, of Rumford was charged by Ptl. Michael Belanger on Spruce Street with operating after suspension. Morton is scheduled to appear in Rumford District Court on Dec. 8.
On Sept. 22 – 3:34 p.m., a 17-year-old Sumner and Rumford male and a 15-year-old Mexico male were charged by Sgt. James Bernard with burglary, criminal mischief and theft for an incident on Franklin Street. The juveniles are scheduled to appear in Rumford Juvenile Court on Nov. 3.
On Sept. 23 – 1:51 a.m., Jeremy Belskis, 22, of Mexico was charged by Ptl. K. Scott Mills on Maine Avenue with operating under the influence, operating after suspension and violating conditions of release. Belskis, unable to post bail, was transported to the Oxford County Jail and is scheduled to appear in Rumford District Court on Dec. 8.
Crash:
On Sept. 23 – 4:40 p.m., a 2006 Subaru operated by Jack Benton, 57, of Belgrade was stopped in traffic preparing the make a left turn from Lincoln Avenue onto Falmouth Street. Adam Bedard, 17, of Rumford was operating a 2006 Jeep and traveling in the same direction. The operator of the Jeep did not react quickly enough to the Subaru stopping. The left front corner of the Jeep struck the right rear corner of the Subaru. There was approximately $2,000 damage to the Jeep and approximately $4,000 damage to the Subaru. Nobody was injured.
Criminal mischief:
On Sept. 23 – 3:25 p.m., Hancock Street resident reporting $100 damage to her vehicle. Victim refused to cooperate. Case closed.
On Sept. 24 – 4:46 a.m., officer on foot patrol on Waldo Street reported a vehicle with two broken windows. Unknown damage and case is under investigation.
On Sept. 26 – 7:55 a.m., Maine Avenue resident reporting damage to two separate vehicles. Approximately $800 in reported damages and case is under investigation.
On Sept. 23 – 7:40 a.m., 17-year-old Rumford male and Parker Erskine, 20, of Rumford were charged by Ptl. Lawrence Winson with criminal trespass and criminal mischief for an incident on Franklin Street. Juvenile and Erskine are scheduled to appear in Rumford Juvenile/District Court on Nov. 3.
On Sept. 23 – 2:43 p.m., 17-year-old Rumford male was charged by Sgt. James Bernard with theft (shoplifting) in connection with an incident on Bridge Street. Juvenile is scheduled to appear in Rumford Juvenile Court on Nov. 3.
On Sept. 21 – 1:23 p.m., Angela Woods, 29, of Peru was charged by Ptl. K. Scott Mills on River Street with violating conditions of release. Woods is scheduled to appear in Rumford District Court on Nov. 3.
On Sept. 25 – 7:28 p.m., Dale Korhonen, 21, of Mexico was charged by Sgt. Tracey Higley at the Mountain Valley High School football game with disorderly conduct and violating conditions of release. Korhonen, unable to post bail, was transported to the Oxford County Jail and is scheduled to appear in Rumford District Court on Nov. 3.
On Sept. 25 – 11 p.m., Sean Kelly, 18, of Farmington was charged by Ptl. Lawrence Winson on Lincoln Avenue with illegal possession of alcohol by a minor. Kelly is scheduled to appear in Rumford District Court on Nov. 3.
On Sept. 26 – 12 a.m., Farmington juvenile, no age listed, was charged by Ptl. Lawrence Winson on Lincoln Avenue with illegal possession of alcohol by a minor. Juvenile is scheduled to appear in Rumford District Court on Nov. 3.
Theft:
On Sept. 19 – 8:37 a.m., Pine Street resident reporting theft of a bicycle valued at $80. Case is under investigation.
Burglary:
On Sept. 24 – 5:41 p.m., Spruce Street apartment broken into and a cordless drill was stolen. No value listed on drill and case is under investigation.
Wanted:
Ricky Warneke, 54 of Rumford is wanted on a charge of failure to pay fines for operating after suspension.
