It appears that the Sun Journal is pro-Obama; however, this in reference to information coming from the AARP, which first expressed support for President Obama’s plan for health care reform (which called for a substantial reduction in funds for Medicare — in the billions of dollars), then it recently claimed in a radio spot (after a reported loss of 60,000 members), it was not going to support the president’s plan.

I wrote to AARP to thank the organization’s leaders. Then, I received in the mail a very impressive infomercial card stating certain myths and facts about the health care reform legislation. It claimed that reform will not hurt Medicare; reform would not mean life/death involvement of the government; and that rationed care would not happen.

I believe the real facts are just the opposite.

There are still many different plans and many include the above, which the AARP claims are myths. The AARP has 40 million members who are seniors, and their votes have been just about promised in support of Obama.

I believe senior citizens should be given the chance to make their own decision.
