Forrest ‘Bill’ Austin
1955 – 2009
LEWISTON — Forrest “Bill” Willard Austin, of St. Croix Street, Lewiston, passed away Tuesday, Sept. 29, at home with his family by his side.
He was born in Lewiston, Feb. 20, 1955, a son of Clarence and Doris (Doucette) Austin. He was educated in local schools, graduating from Leavitt Area High School in 1973. He went on to receive his master electrician license, working for various companies and was also self-employed and a member of IBEW for many years.
Bill was an avid New England sports fan always cheering on the Red Sox, Patriots and Celtics. He also loved to watch his grandchildren play on the fields. He loved music and his all-time favorite band was the “Beatles.”
He is survived by his wife, Diane (Landry) Austin; children, Melissa and husband, Nathan Yeaton, Jessica and husband, Marcin Gawron, Forrest Austin III and his friend, Sharmane Vallarand, Stephanie and husband, Glen Ouellette and Christopher Jalbert and long-term companion, Ashley Reny; his loving grandchildren, Stefan and Mietek Gawron, Kimi Austin, Eli and Katie Yeaton and Gabby, Grace and Emily Ouellette; sisters, Carolyn, Donna and Jill; and a brother, Richard.
He was predeceased by his father, Clarence.
