DIXFIELD — The Neighborly Senior Citizens met on Sept. 16 at the Dixfield Legion Hall with 47 members present.

New members present were Oscar and Marion Hebert, Louise DeConzo, Richard Maki, Bunny Lufkin and Dorothy Benedix. The meeting was called to order by President Connie Tutlis who also read several selections. A sympathy card was sent to the family of Hubert Palmer. Get well cards were sent to Hector Girardin and Edna Holman.

The Neighborly Seniors will sponsor a trip to the Fryeburg Fair on Tuesday, Oct. 6. The bus will leave Dixfield at 7:30 a.m. and Mexico at 7:40 a.m. To sign up for the bus, call Connie at 364-4189.

On Thursday, Oct. 15, there will be a bus shopping trip to Portland. The public run trip, sponsored by Western Maine Transportation, will be run on a trial basis. The first pickup will be in Mexico and second pickup in Dixfield. Cost for those 60 and over is $5, under 60 is $10. This bus trip is available for the public.

On Wednesday, Oct. 21, the Neighborly Senior Citizens will celebrate their 40th anniversary. The Dixfield Legion Post 100 will serve a roast pork dinner and entertainment will be by Nancy and Bing Crosby. Cost is $4 each person.
