FOXBOROUGH, Mass. (AP) — Patriots linebacker Jerod Mayo and nose tackle Vince Wilfork remain sidelined from practice.

Two of New England’s best defensive players missed their second straight day of preparations for Sunday’s game against the Baltimore Ravens.

Mayo sprained the medial collateral ligament of his right knee in the first quarter of the season opener against Buffalo. Wilfork left last Sunday’s game against Atlanta when he hurt his left ankle.

Wide receiver Wes Welker and cornerback Jonathan Wilhite had limited participation Thursday. Welker missed the past two games with a knee injury. Wilhite hurt his groin Saturday night while running from two people outside his residence, police said.

Both declined to talk with reporters.
