LEWISTON — Tri-County Mental Health Services has announced the appointment of Thomas R. Sneed, MD as medical director. Sneed will provide oversight and management of the agency’s psychiatric staff and programs.
“We are very excited to have Dr. Sneed join our medical team and look forward to more growth and innovation under his leadership,” said Catherine Ryder, director of clinical services.
The community is invited to meet Sneed in person at a reception from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 7, at Tri-County’s 230 Bartlett Street location.
Sneed earned his medical degree at University of South Carolina and completed his internship at the VA Medical Center in Roanoke, Va. He studied general psychiatry at William S. Hall Institute in Columbia, S.C. Most recently, he worked with MaineGeneral Medical Center in Augusta.
Sneed has vast experience across many types of programs, including acute inpatient psychiatry, residential substance abuse treatment, general outpatient for adults, children and adolescents, and believes in a holistic view of psychiatric care, incorporating medications along with the latest and most effective treatment methods.
