BETHEL — Sandy Bart Heimann will present “Aging Gracefully and Having Fun Doing it” from 4:30 to 6 p.m, Wednesday, Oct. 15, at the Congregational Church, Garland Chapel. The program is the start of a new fall series by the To Your Health Committee of Western Mountains Senior College.

Heimann, of Owl’s Head, is a holistic nurse with a fine arts degree. Heimann will discuss how to keep one’s mind awake and balanced with creative expression through the use of everyday activities. She will define creative expression and explain why it is important and connected to well being. Ideas for stimulating and expressing it will be presented. She believes that creative expression is the “juicy” missing ingredient for living life with self-appreciation, confidence to express and knowledge that our wisdom and stories have purpose.

Heimann has practiced painting and writing continually while earning a livelihood earlier in traditional health care, then long term care. She now works as an intuitive consultant with a special interest in creative expression and its connection to well being. She has given workshops for stress reduction, mental alertness, building intuition, dowsing and reconnection to natural creativity.

She is currently preparing a collection of paintings and poetry for publication, and compiling six years of study and research into book form about the loss and recovery of natural creative expression that is vital for well being.

The program is offered to the public as a community service and admission is free. Light refreshments will be available. For more information, contact Rosabelle Tifft at 824-2053.
