RICHARDSON, Texas (AP) — A Texas golfer has died after he fell over an embankment trying to get his golf ball.

Sgt. Kevin Perlich said 61-year-old William Michael Grant, of Garland, was playing in a golf tournament Friday at Sherrill Park Golf Course when he overshot a green.

Police said Grant was trying to get the stray ball when witnesses saw him slip and fall about 10 feet.
