NEW SHARON — Two New Sharon residents were arrested Friday on marijuana charges after Maine Drug Enforcement Agency received a tip. Nearly 9 pounds of marijuana in varying stages was seized.
Patrick Lee Daggett, 29, and Eliza G. Fagan, 20, who live at 749 Mile Hill Road, were each charged with unlawful trafficking in schedule Z drugs and cultivating marijuana, MDEA Supervisor Gerry Baril said Monday.
The couple posted $3,000 unsecured bail on Friday to be released from the Franklin County jail in Farmington. They are scheduled to appear on Nov. 20 at Franklin County Superior Court.
The agency had received a tip that Daggett was in the process of harvesting and clipping marijuana. They conducted surveillance that confirmed the information, he said.
Drug agents and members of the State Police, Franklin County Sheriff’s Department and the Maine Warden Service executed a search warrant at the residence.
They found 3.7 pounds of packaged marijuana broken into one-quarter pound and half-pound packages along with digital scales, Baril said.
Another 5 pounds of drying harvested plants were also found, he said.
The estimated street value is $16,000, Baril said.
They also found 10 mature plants after following a foot trail that let to them, he said.
