Victor R. Henderson
1944 – 2009

LEWISTON — Victor R. Henderson, 65, died Wednesday, Sept. 30, at Central Maine Medical Center, after a brief, valiant fight with cancer.

He was born in Augusta, April 14, 1944. He was a devoted husband, father and worker. He worked as a steel erector for 39 years and loved his job. He loved his dogs, his trucks, racing and anything with eagles and flags.

He is survived by his wife, Martha Bowler Henderson of Litchfield; his daughter, Cyndi Henderson of Bangor; his daughter, Brenda Lee Henderson of Sabattus; his son and daughter-in-law, Glen and Jackie Henderson of Sabattus; his two dogs, Tiny and Ralph; all will miss him dearly; nine grandchildren, Joey, Adam, Donnie, Glen Jr., Auburn Dawn, Heather, Leah, Christian and Jaylynn; siblings, Pauline “Vicki” Wheeler, Mr. and Mrs. Wally Henderson, Robert Henderson, Kenneth Henderson and Sheila Hall; and many nieces and nephews. Of special note, he is survived by a devoted father figure in his life, Nick House of Gardiner. He touched many lives during his life and will be missed greatly by many friends and family members.

He was predeceased by his favorite dogs, Tanya and Bernie; his mother, Shirley Redmond Henderson; his father, Victor Henderson Sr.; his sister, Shirley Berry; and his daughter, Gail Henderson.
