Genealogy society

FARMINGTON — The Sandy River Valley Chapter, Maine Genealogy Society, will meet at 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 10, at the Farmington Public
Library. The group will
travel to Temple to visit some of the old cemeteries. In case of rain,
there will be a back-up program following the meeting at the library.

Haunted train ride

PHILLIPS — A haunted train ride will be held at 6:45 p.m. Saturday,
Oct. 10, at at the S&R and R&L Railroad. The cost for adults is $5; children, $3. Cars should be parked on Main Street and there will be a free shuttle service to the train. Shuttles will be marked with a pirate
flag. Refreshments will be

Mystery benefit 

FARMINGTON — The Farmington Public Library
will host a murder mystery from 6:30 to 10 p.m. Friday, Oct 30.

All are invited to join 10 suspects and one detective to solve the murder at
Crooke’s Crossing. There will be plenty of intrigue and gourmet. Tickets are
$15 each or $25 for a couple. All proceeds will benefit the roof project.

Vining reunion

TEMPLE — The descendants of Benjamin and Sarah (Ring) Vining will have
the 24th annual Vining reunion starting at 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct.
17. The reunion will be held at the Temple
Town Hall, Temple Road. A potluck dinner will be held at noon. Those attending should bring something to share for the dinner and bring any
genealogical information and pictures. Those who play a musical instrument or who would like to do a reading or tell a story are

Church supper

LIVERMORE — The Victory Christian Church, Route 4, Federal Road, will have a chili, chowder, soup and salad supper to raise money for driveway repairs. The supper will be held at 5 p.m. Friday, Oct. 9. The cost is $7 for adults, $3.50 for children and free for children under 5.
