Meeting postponed

PERU — The Peru Extension Homemaker meeting for Tuesday Oct. 13, has been postponed to 10 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 20, at the Peru Baptist Church.

Society meeting

DIXFIELD — The Dixfield Historical Society will meet at 7 p.m. Thursday, Oct.
8, in the historical society Charter Meeting Room. Local rock hound and member Albert Spaulding will speak on the history
and lore of rock hounding in the area. A business meeting will be held
at 6:30 p.m. for all members. Light refreshments will be served.

Senior citizens

BETHEL — The Bethel Senior Citizens Club will meet at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 14, at the Pleasant Valley Grange Hall in West Bethel for a luncheon. The program will be show and tell. The price of dinner is $8. 

Fall frolic

RUMFORD — The Oxford County Sheriff’s Office TRIAD Program (crime prevention for senior citizens) will hold a Senior Fall Frolic from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday,
Oct. 16, at the Rumford Eagles. The day will begin with coffee and
donuts. Information booths, music, lunch, nickel bingo, Chinese
auction, 50/50 drawing, puzzles and fudge will be available.

Family fun day

MEXICO — The Friends and Family Forever Relay for Life Team Family Fun
Day will be held from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 17, at the
Chiasson’s Barn
Full of Dreams, 178 Poplar Hill Rd. The rain date will be Sunday,
Oct. 18. The cost is $7 each person or $5 each person in a family of
four or more. The day will include horse rides, face painting, make
your own cup of
apple cider, a hot dog, popcorn and soda. All children need an adult or
guardian present to sign a liability release form. For more
