Lauretta E. Pineau
1915 – 2009
FARMINGTON — Lauretta E. (Labbe) Pineau, 94, a former resident of Pineau Street in Jay, died Wednesday, Oct. 7, at Sandy River Rehabilitation Center, where she had resided for the past 6½ years surrounded by her family.
She was born on May 28, 1915, in Jay, the daughter of Joseph and Josephine (Veilleux) Roy and attended the Jay schools.
On July 1, 1932, she married Alphe “Pete” Labbe at St. Rose of Lima Church in Jay. He passed away on March 17, 1976. She worked at Bass Shoe Co. in Wilton for many years, retiring in 1978. She had also worked at the Livermore Falls Clothing Store and Mann’s Clothing of Livermore Falls.
On Sept. 30, 1984, she married Arthur Pineau of Jay. He passed away on Sept. 25, 2001. She was a communicant of St. Rose of Lima Church in Jay, a member of the Daughters of Isabella and the Ladies of St. Anne. She and her husband enjoyed traveling and taking day trips.
She is survived by four daughters, Adele True and her partner, John McAuley, of Augusta, Linda Brundage and her husband, Robert, of Livermore, Donna McGuire and her husband, Hugh “Bob” of St. Augustine, Fla., and Patricia Micks of Livermore Falls and her companion, Ernest Holmquist, of Peru; seven grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; a stepson, Michael Pineau and his wife, Crystal and a stepdaughter, Louise Stevens and her husband, Bruce, both of Jay; four stepgrandchildren; and two stepgreat-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by a brother, Pete Roy; two sisters, Juliette Ouellette and Leanne Nolette; a granddaughter, Leslie; a great-grandson, Zachary; and a son-in-law, Everett Johnson.
The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to the staff at Sandy River Rehabilitation for the exceptional care of Lauretta during her stay.
