The Boston-based trio Typhoon Ferri will open for the Marshall Tucker Band, known for such hit singles as
"Heard It In a Love Song and "Take The Highway," on Sunday, Oct. 11, at Merrill Auditorium in Portland. The 2 to 6 p.m. concert, moved from Hadlock Field due to the weather forecast, will benefit U.S. troops and veterans. Playing a blend of rock, funk, folk and reggae, Typhoon Ferri’s sound
is, according to the Providence Journal, "somewhere between Guster and
311." Since 1999, Typhoon Ferri has performed
more than 900 shows all over the Northeast. Tickets, $25, may be purchased online at www.porttix.com or call
842-0800. Anyone wishing to make donations may call David Jones at
650-3455. For more information, visit
