Hebron 4, Brewster 3

HEBRON — Vlad Gavrik scored all four of Hebron’s goals to lift the Lumberjacks to a 4-3 triumph over Brewster Academy in boys’ soccer action Saturday.

The Lumberjacks (5-2) found themselves trailing 1-0 at the half on an unassisted tally from Brian Hart in the 20th minute.

Gavrik recorded a pair of goals early in the second frame to give Hebron a 2-1 lead, before Michael DiPalmer evened up the contest with a conversion from Calder Billings in the 70th minute.

Gavrik responded with another twl goals for Hebron. And, Hart notched his second goal of the game in the 86th minute for Brewster (4-3-1). But, time was on Hebron’s side as the clock quickly wound down.

Girls’ soccer

Hyde 2, Hebron 1

HEBRON — Caroline Jackson scored the
eventual game-winner in the 16th minute to lift Hyde Academy to a 2-1
victory over Hebron Academy in girls’ soccer action Saturday.

Hyde opened the scoring in the third minute on a goal from Hannah MacMillan.

Hebron turned up the tempo  in the second half and eventually scored a goal by Emily Wyman in the 75th minute. Hebron outshot Hyde by a margin of 17-6.

Goalie Janelle Bradish had four saves for Hebron, while goalie Tierra Williams turned back 12 shots to earn the win in net for Hyde Academy.

Field hockey

Poland 0, Waynflete 0

POLAND — Waynflete enjoyed a 14-1 advantage in shots, but Poland’s defense kept the Flyers off the board in a 0-0 tie in the regular-season finale on Saturday.

Lindsey Kasik stopped all 14 shots, while Sally Littlefield and Sarah Mickool led the fefensive efforts for the Knights (0-13-1). Maddy Shapiro had one save for Waynflete (3-8-3).

Edward Little 1, Oxford Hills 1

AUBURN — Hannah Warren scored an unassisted goal with 17:21 remaining to enable Oxford Hills to earn a 1-1 tie with Edward Little in their KVAC field hockey regular-season finale on Saturday.

Following a scoreless first half, Emily Ranucci scored four minutes into the second half on a pass from Katie Williamson to give the Red Eddies (5-8-1) the early advantage.

Kayla Cummings nade 12 saves in goal for EL, while Mariah Kimball made 13 saves for Oxford Hills (6-5-3).
