Harlan Francis
1935 – 2009
ROCHESTER, N.H. – Harlan Francis, 74, died Friday, Oct. 9, at the Colonial Hill Nursing Home in Rochester, N.H., with his wife by his side.

Born Aug. 18, 1935, in Dixfield, he was the son of the late Elroy and Hazel (Briggs) Francis.

As a young man he moved to Connecticut, where 35 years ago he met and married the love of his life, Christine. About five years ago, he retired to New Hampshire where he enjoyed nature, including the deer and turkeys that would wander through his yard. On nice days he would watch skydivers from his deck. He was an avid NASCAR fan and enjoyed gardening. He enjoyed visits from his grandkids, especially Jennifer, Winnie and Daniel, but he loved all his grandkids. He will be greatly missed.

Members of his family include his wife, Christine (Spencer) Francis of Rochester, N.H.; sons, Glenn Francis (wife Lucy) of Connecticut, Brian Francis (wife Michelle) of Texas, and Paul Francis (wife Tammy) of Maine; daughters, Sandra Francis of Connecticut, Linda Smith and Carol Napolitano, both of Texas; grandchildren, Jennifer, Maria, Dennis Jr., Matt, Erika, Jessica, Jason, Keira, Logan, Kevin, Sara, Winnie, Daniel, Joe and Bryan Jr.; also great-grandchildren, Colby and Olivia; brothers, Harry Francis of Maine and Quimby Francis (wife Dale) of Maine; sisters, Florence (Skeet) Wright (husband Arthur) of Maine and Christine Huffman of Maine.

He was predeceased by two sisters; and a brother; and nieces and nephews.
