NORWAY — The First Universalist Church of Norway will present a harvest concert at 2 p.m. in the church sanctuary on Sunday, Oct. 18.

Featured will be live performances by Vessel Recordings artist Heather Pierson and the First Universalist Church choir. The program benefiting the church’s belfry repair project will include anthems, chants, seasonal readings and rounds that celebrate and honor the earth and the fall harvest.

The concert will also feature the debut of some of Pierson’s latest compositions.

In a career spanning two decades, Pierson has developed a keen sense of how to communicate with audiences of all ages and genres, both as a performer and as a composer. Her live performances move from her signature style of jazz-tinged, neo-classical piano compositions to folk-infused ballads to world-beat percussion.

Music director at the First Universalist Church, Pierson also founded and is host of the Norway Open Mic Night, held at the church on the last Friday of every month.

Donation is $5 at the door. The church is at 479 Main St. For more information, call 743-2828 or e-mail vesselrecordings@yahoo.com.
