LEWISTON — Post 22, American Legion, will meet at 6 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 15, at the Multi-Purpose Center, 145 Birch St. A light buffet will be served by Unit 22 Auxiliary members Louise Allen and Sally Dumont, assisted by Post 22 Commander Ray Allen. There will be a 50/50 raffle plus prizes for all who participate.
A segment of the meeting will observe the anniversaries of the terrorist bombing of the U.S. Marine barracks in Beirut, Lebanon, on Oct. 23, 1983, where 241 U.S. Marines and U.S. Navy personnel lost their lives and the terrorist boat bombing of the U.S.S. Cole in Yemen, Aden, on Oct. 12, 2000, where 17 crew members lost their lives. Donald Dube, post chaplain, and Jerry DerBoghosian, Americanism officer, will lead the memorial service.
