LEWISTON — Lewiston Adult Education’s semiannual Super Saturday will be held on Oct. 17. Nearly a dozen courses will be offered for those who want learn something new in a one-day workshop. The courses will include:
eBay Giving Works, Fundraising on eBay: Participants will learn how to use eBay’s fundraising platform to get the word out about their charity or nonprofit and generate a new source of revenue; 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.; $37 plus $7 lab fee.
Enhance Your Digital Photos: Using MS Photo Editor, participants will learn how to make the most of digital pictures, how to share photos with family and friends and how to keep the pictures safe online. Participants will bring their own digital images on a disk to work with; 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.; $27.
Jump Ring Jewelry: Participants will create a matching necklace, bracelet and earring set using the jump ring technique; 9 a.m. to noon; $18 plus $30 lab fee.
MS Excel Workshop: The course will help beginners gain a functional understanding of MS Excel. Participants will learn to enter data, create formulas and format spreadsheets; 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.; $55.
MS Word in a Day: Attendees will review the basics of MS Word and then learn how to utilize the most useful features MS Word offers, including integrating graphics and spreadsheets, creating and controlling tables, bullets, mail merge and wizards; 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.; $55.
Recycled Sweater and Fleece Mittens: Using old sweaters and some fleece, participants will create a unique handmade pair of mittens well suited for the upcoming winter; 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.; $32.
Seashell and Glass Sun Catcher: Jim Nutting of Maine Art Glass will help participants create a stained-glass sun catcher in a day; 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.; $27 plus $10 lab fee.
