Community suppers
WATERFORD — Community suppers will be held at 6 p.m. on the third Thursday of each month through May, beginning Oct. 15. Suppers will be at the Wilkins Community House, Plummer Hill Road.
All are welcome and those attending should bring a dish to share. Rolls, bread and beverages will be provided. Those interested in presenting a short program after each supper are welcome and may choose the month to present. For more information, call 583-6677.
Career class
SOUTH PARIS — Maine Centers for Women, Work and Community will offer a
free career exploration class for those who are thinking of making a career change or entering the
workforce. Participants will explore skills and interests and
match them to career choices. The class will be held from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Mondays, Oct.
19 through Nov. 23, at the Western
University and Community College Center. Preregistration is required.

Bean supper
NORWAY — A bean supper will be held after the 4 p.m. Mass at St. Catherine of Sienna Church, 32 Paris St., on
Saturday, Oct. 17. The cost is $6 for adults,
$5 for senior citizens and $3 for children 12 and under.
Hospice program
SOUTH PARIS — The MaineHealth Learning Resource Center at Stephens
Memorial Hospital will offer a “It’s My Choice: How to Make Sure
Your Wishes are Carried Out” program from
5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 21, at Oxford Hills Comprehensive
High School.
Pat O’Brien, RN, BSN, CHPN, from Androscoggin Home Care and Hospice
will discuss advance directives, comfort care versus curative care,
pain and symptom management, Alzheimer’s and dementia, family caregiver
support, hospice care and bereavement follow up care.
Registration is preferred. There is no charge for the presentation.

Church supper
BOLSTERS MILLS — A chicken pie supper will be held Saturday, Oct. 17, at Bolsters Mills United Methodist Church. The first seating will at 5 p.m. and the second at 6, with a third to follow as needed. Cost is $7, adults; $3, children under 12. The building is handicapped accessible and air conditioned.
Supper will include chicken pie, mashed potatoes, gravy, vegetable, rolls, homemade dessert and beverages. Reservations will be accepted between 9 a.m. and noon Saturday by confirmation at 583-9024. Do not leave a message.
H.S. meeting
WEST PARIS — The West Paris Historical Society will meet for a potluck supper at 6 p.m. Monday, Oct. 19. The meeting will follow at 7 p.m. All arrangements for the hunter’s and family breakfast to be held on Oct. 31 need to be made at the meeting.
