Garden club
FARMINGTON — Harold Kelley of Vienna will speak on planting and managing moss
gardens and conifers at the next Mt. Blue Area Garden Club meeting on
Tuesday, Oct. 20, at the Trinity United Methodist Church, Farmington
Falls Road. Members and the public are invited to a social half hour
starting at 12:30 p.m., followed by Kelley and a regular meeting
led by President Judy Fuller. Hostesses Nikki Adams, Theda
Fairbanks and Jayne Colby will provide refreshments. For more information, call

Song writers
FARMINGTON — Song writers who have written
about the current global climate crisis or who would like to write one may submit the song to University of Maine at Farmington’s The
Power of Music contest by Saturday, Oct. 17, and win the opportunity to perform
or have it performed at the 350-Day concert.
The concert will be held
at 7:30 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 24, in Nordica Auditorium in UMF Merrill
Hall. To enter, send a recording of the song or a link on the Web and a
printout of the lyrics to Sarah Sloane, UMF associate professor of
biology, at [email protected], or by mail to UMF Division of Natural

Pathways meeting
LEWISTON — Pathways Inc. will meet at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 20, at the Green Ladle, 156 East Ave. The organization is celebrating 35 years of business. The public is welcome to attend.
Crafters
FARMINGTON — The Franklin County Arts and Crafts Association will meet Wednesday, Oct. 21, at the University of Maine at Farmington Olsen Student Center, Room A, North Dining Hall. Harvest dinner
RANGELEY — The Church of the Good Shepherd, 614 Main St., will serve a harvest dinner from 5 to 7 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 17. There will be baked beans, baked ham, cole slaw, yeast rolls and apple cake with whipped cream. There will be door prizes. The price is $7 for adults and $5 for children under 10.
