RUMFORD — A community networking meeting sponsored by the River Valley
Healthy Communities Coalition will be held at noon Tuesday, Oct. 20, at the River
Valley Technology Center, 60 Lowell St. Attendees should bring their lunch.

Patty Duguay from the RVHCC will present information about childhood lead poisoning prevention. Other agenda items include community updates from the Healthy Communities as well as from other River Valley organizations. For more information, contact Duguay at 364-7408.

Society meeting

RUMFORD — The Rumford Historical Society will present a program on Rumford’s history on the Internet, and will include slides from a
past local history teacher, Peter McKenna. The program will be
prepared and the discussion will be led by the current president,
Curtis Rice, of Rumford.

The meeting will be held at 7
p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 21, in the auditorium of the Municipal
Building, 145 Congress St. Light refreshments will be served following the meeting.

The public is encouraged to attend and consider
becoming members. The membership fee is $10 each individual. Dues
may be paid at the meeting or mailed to Lewis Irish, treasurer, Rumford Historical Society, Municipal Bldg, 145 Congress St., Rumford,
ME 04276. Also include name, address, phone number and
e-mail, if desired, to be included on the mailing list for
meeting notices.
