NORWAY — The Western Maine Art Group invites any and all Western Maine artists and artisans to participate in a holiday art gift promotion to be held at the Lajos Matolcsy Arts Center from the end of October through the middle of December.

Consignments are being sought to fill the center with affordable art for holidays gifts. The theme is “Small and Affordable: Encouraging Holiday Shoppers to Purchase Original Art.”

Artists and artisans may submit as many pieces as desired of any media, style or representation including paintings, fiber work, jewelry, sculpture, quilting, woodcarvings or fused glass. Art work submitted for consignment must be original design and creation of the submitting artist. Offset and glicée prints will be accepted.

It is not a juried show and pieces will be accepted on the basis of space permitting. Pieces may be rejected on the basis of space limitations at the discretion of the Western Maine Art Group.

The Western Maine Art Group, a nonprofit organization, will retain a 20 percent commission and will pay all applicable sales taxes.

Art drop off for the show is from 1 to 5 p.m., Oct. 15, 16 and 18 and from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday Oct. 17. Blank submission forms are available on the shelves in the office at the Lajos Matolcsy Arts Center, 480 Main St. Completed forms should be left in the completed submission forms folder.

Holiday operating hours at the center will be from 1 to 5 p.m. Thursdays, Fridays and Sundays and from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturdays.

The show will run through Dec. 17. Pick will be from 1 to 5 p.m. Dec. 17, 18 and 20 and from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Dec. 20. Pick up must be made within 10 days of the end of the show.
