Girl scouts

RUMFORD — The Girl Scouts of Maine will host a parent information and registration meeting at 6 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 29, at the Rumford Public Library. Upcoming local programming will include a hands on science night and how girls benefit from the upcoming Girl Scout cookie sale.

Girl Scouts is for girls between the ages of 5 to 17.

Crafters wanted

RUMFORD — The River Valley Chamber
of Commerce will hold its annual craft fair on Saturday,
Dec. 5, at the Mountain Valley High School. The chamber has more than 56 spaces available for crafters to sell their items. Spaces are
$25. The event will include a cookie walk, photos with Santa and Mr. and
Mrs. Frosty as well as food, music and raffles. Crafters are invited to

Scout anniversary

RUMFORD — Boy Scout Troop 580 of Rumford will celebrate their
50th anniversary on Saturday, Oct. 24, at the Holy Savior Church (St. Athanasius and St. John Church basement). Anyone who has ever been involved in
Troop 580 is invited to share memories. There will be a slide show of pictures from over the years and
several presentations will be made.

Doors will open at 4 p.m., a ham dinner will be served at 5 p.m. and
opening ceremonies will follow. To attend, call Richie Philbrick at
364-8297 no later than Wednesday, Oct. 21. Only 200
people will be served.
