LIVERMORE — The Victory Christian Church is having its first area apple pie baking contest, with the winner receiving a cash prize.
The contest will take place on Saturday, Oct. 31, at the church’s annual Harvest Festival. The contest entries will be served free to everyone attending. Those who wish to enter should submit their recipe with their name, address and telephone number and bring the pie to the church, 1680 Federal Rd., between noon and 3 p.m. Oct. 31.
The Harvest Festival will be held from 3 to 7 p.m. Those attending may come in costume and there will be prizes for all age groups. Local businesses have donated door prizes. There will be many free events including pony rides, a bouncy house, a 20-foot slide, candy toss, face painting, bingo, hayrides, cotton candy, popcorn, treasure hunt and games. Free food will include hot dogs,
sandwiches, desserts, chips, hot soups and chowders.
There will be a “jail” fundraiser with a sheriff. A professional photographer will be available to take photos, with a portion of the cost going directly to the church’s emergency driveway
fund.
