OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) — Heisman Trophy winner Sam Bradford’s season, and perhaps even his career, at Oklahoma may be finished after he re-injured his throwing shoulder.

Still, coach Bob Stoops says “it’s a little early” to give up on a season that’s seen the Sooners’ goals of a national title and perhaps even a Big 12 championship vanish.

Stoops says the Sooners haven’t been far off, losing three games against ranked teams by a combined five points despite being without Bradford and second-team All-America tight end Jermaine Gresham most of the time.

Bradford was hurt again Saturday in Oklahoma’s 16-13 loss to No. 3 Texas in Dallas. Stoops says it’ll likely be at least Thursday before the team has an update on his status.
