LIVERMORE FALLS — Bill Irwin will be the guest speaker at Emmanuel Assembly of God at 10 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 25. He is a celebrity, speaker, author and certified family counselor.
Irwin is the first and only blind person to hike the entire 2,168 miles of the Appalachian Trail alone, along with his German shepherd guide dog, Orient. Irwin had to hike an average of 25 miles each day and said his faith sustained him. He wrote a book from his experience entitled “Blind Courage.”
He has been on televisions programs such as “The Morning Show,” “Heart to Heart” and “The Hour of Power.” His inspiration has helped challenge audiences of all types, providing them with the means to change, have courage and be successful.
His talks have been called “captivating, motivating, and heartfelt.” Irwin will also speak at 6 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 25, at the Jay Middle School gym.
