JAY — The Daughters of Isabella Circle 677 from St. Rose of Lima Church recently held their annual Fall Bazaar at the Parish Hall, with an overwhelming turnout. There were many items to purchase including a food table with homemade breads, fudge and pickles. There was a cookie walk and raffles with theme baskets and other prizes. 

The winners of the fall raffle were: first, $100, Irene Castonguay; second, rocker/bear, Laurianne Castonguay; third, $25 gift card to Wal-Mart, Stacie Maurias; fourth, $10 to Yannis, Laurianne Castonguay; fifth, Swedish afghan, Athanase Couture; sixth, $25, Sue Mancine; seventh, Rada carving knife set, Ray and Louise LaBlanc; eighth, nativity, Pat Knowlton; ninth, doll picture, Julie Jacques; 10th, $10 to Yannis, Donald Castonguay; 11th, Rada three knife set, Connie St. Pierre.

The winner of the food basket was Annette Melanson; cookie walk jar winner was Joyce Richards. Theme baskets winners were:

The group also met for the monthly business meeting on Oct. 14, at the Parish Hall. The meeting was called to order by Regent Jackie Castonguay. Her last time as Regent, her gavel hit the table at 6:30 p.m. to call the meeting to order. On the agenda for the night was to vote on the application for Gail Kerns-Dube, the application was voted and accepted that Kerns-Dube be accepted to join the Daughters of Isabella at Circle 677.

Next, the success of the Fall Bazaar was discussed. The gavel was struck again to end the meeting and to begin the installation of new officers. Helen Hobbs escorted the person to be installed to the front of the table to be accepted and installed to the new position by the
State Regent Beatrice Dostie and State Vice Regent Jacqueline Dostie Smith.
