NEW GLOUCESTER – Verge New England Championship Cyclo-cross returns to Maine this weekend with a stop at one of the most scenic venues in the series. Pineland Farms will play host to the fourth stop in the seven-weekend series Saturday and Sunday.

Top bicycle racers from the United States and Canada will showcase their fitness and skills as they battle for nearly $10,000 in prize money. The Maine Cycling Club has put together a challenging course that combines the cross country ski trails and undulating grounds of the campus. The venue with a view of Mt. Washington in the backdrop is one of the favorite stops in the series. Pineland Farms is a 5,000-acre working farm, diverse business campus and educational and recreational venue with a beautiful rural landscape.

Racing starts at 8:30 a.m. each day with 11 categories being contested. There will be classes for all ability levels and ages. Those interested in racing should go to www.bikereg.com to register online. There is no charge to watch the races. Spectators are encouraged to attend as cyclo-cross is one of the easiest racing formats to watch.
