GRAY — Fiddlehead Center for the Arts and Sciences has announced new programs and events.

From Oct. 27 through Dec. 11, students can attend a six-week session at the center, 25 Shaker Road, for $39 each student.

Class offerings for 5- to 7-year-olds include Family Yoga, Aztecs and Incas and Messy Art. Students ages 8 to 10 can attend Art Intensive and Clay Projects. Knitting is offered for ages 8 and up and Clay Intensive for ages 10 and up. All students are invited to participate in the new Chess Club on Friday afternoons. Beginning pottery classes for adults will run from 6 to 8:30 p.m. Mondays, Nov. 2 through Dec. 14; cost, $129.

A free Spanish potluck series will be held from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Fridays, Oct. 30, Nov. 20 and Dec. 18. Participants can being a dish to share and practice Spanish. Dinners will feature Latin music, slideshows and short videos provided by the Fiddlehead Spanish Club for adults.

A Latin salsa night will be held on Saturday, Nov. 14, when the afro-cuban band Grupo Esperanza will come to Fiddlehead. A dance lesson will begin at 6 p.m. and a full band performance will be held from 8 to 11 p.m. The concert and dance is a fundraiser for the Fiddlehead Center. Tickets are $30 in advance, $35 at the door.

Actors aged 8 to 16 are invited to sign up to audition for the spring children’s musical “Seussical, The Musical, Jr.” Auditions will be held on Saturday and Sunday, Nov. 21 and 22, at the center. Call 657-2244 for an audition time and for more information. Performances will be in March.
