Lucienne C. Maheux
1918 – 2009

LEWISTON — Lucienne C. Maheux, 91, formerly of 11 Garcelon St., died Friday, Oct. 16, at Marshwood Center for Health Care, after a long illness.

She was born in Lewiston, April 12, 1918, the daughter of the late Lorenzo and Dora Jutras Cloutier. She was educated in Lewiston schools and was married Sept. 27, 1941 to Wilfred J. Maheux, who predeceased her Feb. 12, 2008.

Prior to her retirement she was employed in local dress shops. She was a member of Holy Family Church and the Ladies of Ste. Anne Sodality.

She enjoyed sewing, crocheting and cooking. She made blankets for all her children and grandchildren. She looked forward to Sundays, as the family would gather at the house and also on all the holidays. She also liked to go out to eat with her sisters and brothers on Thursdays. She also enjoyed going to card parties. She will be remembered as a loving, caring mother, grandmother and sister. She will also be greatly missed by all who knew her.

She is survived by three daughters, Pauline L’Italien and husband, Robert, of Auburn, Doris Cote and husband, Paul G., of Poland and Jacqueline Bergeron and husband, Leo, of Lewiston; three sons, Henry Maheux and wife, Anita, of Lewiston, Ronald Maheux and wife, Diane, of Lewiston and Paul Maheux and wife, Gabrielle, of Lewiston; 22 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; five sisters, Vada Wright of Lewiston, Aline Poirier of Minot, Theresa Bernier of Lewiston, Georgette Turcotte of Greene and Lorraine Packard and husband, Edwin, of Sabattus; two brothers, Bert Cloutier and wife, Lorraine, of Greene and Wilfred Cloutier and wife, Janice, of Durham; and a brother-in-law, Rosaire Morin.

She was predeceased by a grandson, Shawn Maheux; a granddaughter, baby Cote; three sisters, Rita Roy, Juliette Polley and Stella Morin; and a brother, Henry Cloutier.

Lucienne’s family thanks the staff at Androscoggin Home Care and Marshwood Health Care for their loving care of their mother.
