AUBURN — Robin Dow Senior Citizens will meet at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 28, at the Alden M. Gayton Post 31, American Legion, 426 Washington St. This will be the last meeting this year because of the upcoming holidays.
There will be a Halloween luncheon following the meeting, and bingo will follow. Members are reminded to bring their cups. Prizes will be awarded to the ones dressed most appropriately to carry out the Halloween theme in costume.
Tickets will be on sale for the Thanksgiving luncheon, for $5, to be held on Wednesday, Nov. 11, at the Auburn United Methodist Church, and for the Christmas luncheon, for $5, to be held at the Green Ladle, Lewiston High School. Members may pay for the two tickets with one check. Names will also be submitted for approval of new officers for the coming year and dues may be paid for the year 2010.
There were 29 members present at the meeting on Oct. 14, with President Virginia Houston presiding, who welcomed Charles and Solange Berube, making their first appearance since joining, and then announced Margaret Merrill was a shut-in at Schooner Estates.
A food auction was held with Roy Tassinari as the auctioneer, assisted by Lucien Marcoux, Pam Carrier and Pat Donohue as assistants in delivering the items sold. October birthdays were recognized. Attendance prize winners were Lucien Marcoux and Pam Carrier; pot of gold, Lorraine Marcous, Nancy Roy and Jeannette Gagne; mystery prize, Pat Donohue, Ralph Lashua and George Herrick.
