AUBURN — UU Theater will give an encore presentation of “Hidden: A Gender” at 7 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 7, and at 2 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 8 at First Universalist Church of Auburn.

This provocative play, written by transgendered lesbian activist Kate Bornstein, juxtaposes the stories of two real people dealing with gender identity. The first, Herman, aka Kate, describes his transition from life as a man to a woman; the second tells of Herculine, a young woman living in Victorian France who physically develops into a male and is forced by an unforgiving society to reidentify her gender.

Cast members are Tanya Blaisdell, Christopher Dufour, Jared Fiori, Duncan Gelder, Jackie Oliveri, Alicia Proulx and Rajiv Shankar. UU Theater’s production team includes Toby Haber, Mina Matthews, Pat Phillips, Julia Terry and Jared Fiori.
UU Theater presented “Hidden: A Gender” in June 2007.

For tickets, $10, call 783-0461 or e-mail [email protected]. Due to mature content, youth must be accompanied by an adult. An informative panel discussion will follow each show. First Universalist Church of Auburn is at 169 Pleasant St.
