Conrad C. Bard
1927 – 2009
LEWISTON — Conrad C. Bard, 82, a resident of 102 Campus Ave., Lewiston formerly of Lisbon and Sabattus died early Wednesday, Oct. 28, at St. Mary’s d’Youville Pavilion after a brief illness.
He was born in Ft. Kent, March 14, 1927, the son of Joseph and Gertrude (Chasse) Bard.
He was employed at the former Hill Mill retiring many years ago. After retirement, he volunteered at area nursing homes, and was active with Reverend Napoleon J. Cournoyer Knights of Columbus Council 2358 in Lisbon.
He also enjoyed tending to his big vegetable garden which was a source of pride to him.
Survivors include four sons, Richard and his wife, Linda, of Lisbon, Roger and his wife, Lorraine, of Lisbon, Alfred and his wife, Joanne, of Lewiston and Raymond and Debbie of Augusta; one daughter, Linda Coppens and her husband, Dave, of Wisconsin; one daughter-in-law, Judy Bard of Lisbon; one niece, Trudy Farquhar and her husband, Stewart, of Millinockett; 10 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren
He was predeceased by his first wife, Cecile; second wife, Germaine; one brother, Robert; a stepsister, Jeannette Bard; and one granddaughter, Kimberly Coppens.
Special thanks to the staff at d’Youville Pavilion for going beyond the call of duty in the professional care given to our father, Conrad, and also to the Sabattus Police Department for checking in on him when he was sick.
