Pilot Derald Young of Damn Yankee Balloons of Dixfield floats over the Androscoggin River in “Raspberry Ripple” after taking off in a field next to Spare-Time Recreation in Lewiston. Schoolchildren at Sherwood Heights Elementary School in Auburn who saw the balloon were jumping up and down and waving shortly before it landed in a nearby field.
